September is the perfect month to begin home improvement projects that will provide benefits for the entire year. As students go back to school, the parents they leave behind can begin to \"green up\" the home-front by creating their own garden, re-creating their front yard so that it is more water conserving and reducing their energy consumption. If this sounds good to you, but you don\'t know where to start; join us for a tour of the Eco-HomeTM. Our experienced tour guides will explain all the products, systems and procedures that make Eco-Home energy efficient and water conserving and answer your questions about integrating them into your own home and yard. You\'ll learn about solar energy, saving money on heating bills with insulation and weather stripping and protecting your health with non-toxic/biodegradable cleaning products. The tour includes the Eco-Home, itself, and the Eco-Home xeriscape and organic orchard and food garden. The tour is conducted by the Eco-Home Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public on how to make lifestyle choices that protect the environment and improve quality of life. The Eco-Home is located in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. Call 323-662-5207 for reservation and directions. Requested donation for the tour is $10 per person. Please make your reservations by the Friday before the tour.
